Relevance
The relevance of our research is manifested in the need to conduct an in-depth analysis of the relationship between the Kazakh Khanate and Dzungaria in the period from the 2nd half of the 17th to the mid-18th century. These relations had a significant impact on historical processes in the region and played a key role in shaping the modern historical dynamics of peoples such as the Kazakhs, Kalmyks, Kyrgyz, Russians and others.
An important aspect of our research is its influence on the formation of national identity and patriotism. A deep understanding of the history of interaction between the Kazakhs, Dzungars and other peoples of the region helps strengthen national identity and pride in the past.
Goal
the goal is to research, analyze little-known sources, archival materials and folklore evidence, conduct a comprehensive reconstruction of the history of interaction between the Kazakh and Dzungar peoples from the second half 17th century to the mid-18th century.
Expected Result
It is planned to publish 2 (two) articles in a peer-reviewed scientific publication indexed in the Arts and Humanities Citation Index, and having a CiteScore percentile in the Scopus database of at least 35 (thirty-five) and 9 (nine) articles in domestic publications with a non-zero impact factor (recommended by the COKNVO).
The results of a comprehensive and systematic scientific research conducted by the project participants will be expressed in the preparation of one collective monograph and one collection of documents from the archives and rare collections of libraries in Kazakhstan and Russia.
Achieved Result
4 (four) scientific articles have been published in peer-reviewed domestic publications recommended by the CQASHE RK and 3 (three) articles in the media.
An international scientific and practical conference " Relations between the Kazakh and Dzungarian Khanate in the second half of the XVII - middle of the XVIII centuries" was held. October 11, 2024. A collection of conference materials has been published.

A collection of archival documents "New pages from the history of Kazakh-Dzungarian relations: in the late 17th – 50s of the 18th centuries" has been published. Astana: "Expoprint LLP, 2025. 420 p. ISBN 978-601-82116-7-6.
Electronic copies were purchased and systematization of archival documents and scientific literature on the life and work of the 17th–18th centuries on the history of Kazakh-Dzungarian relations was carried out, as well as independent photocopying of individual materials during business trips.
2 (two) scientific articles have been published in peer-reviewed domestic publications recommended by the KOKNVO and 1 (one) article in the republican media. 1 article has been accepted for publication in a domestic publication recommended by the KOKNVO.
