Shakarim University. One site. Different years. One university.
For the first time at Shakarim University, graduates from different years gathered on one site - after work, on a regular weekday evening, and stayed together until late.
Not a formal occasion or a one-time meeting, but a live situation in which it became clear: the connection with the university does not end with receiving a diploma. It persists and manifests itself when there is an opportunity to gather again.
Shakarim University hosted a volleyball tournament among graduates. It was originally intended as a meeting, but in fact it showed more - the university connection does not disappear after graduation, it continues to work.
The event brought together graduates of different years, directions and professions. These were people with different experiences, but with a common destination - the university from which they once graduated.
Composition and participation
Teams formed according to different principles took part in the tournament:

Teams are formed from graduates of different years - from those who graduated from the university decades ago to recent graduates.
These are participants from the city and regions of the region, representatives of different fields and professions - teachers, engineers, economists, agricultural specialists. Everyone has their own experience, their own path, their own story after university.
But that evening they found themselves in the same room without division into years, positions and statuses. On one platform, where it is not regalia that is important, but participation, team play and a general sense of belonging to one’s university.

These are specific people who today represent the university in life and in the profession.
Role of the Alumni Association
The tournament was organized with the active participation of ShakarimAlumni.
It is not the event itself that is important, but the way it was done: teams from different years and directions were assembled; graduates from the regions were involved; the participation of those who had not crossed paths with each other for a long time was ensured; a normal, lively environment was created without formality.
The association has shown that it can not only exist, but actually gather people and work with them.

What does this mean? Such meetings give a simple result: people begin to communicate again; new contacts appear; old connections are restored; the university remains a part of life.

This is important for the university, as support appears, trust increases, and a circle of people who are ready to participate and help is formed.
This tournament showed a simple thing. University does not end with a diploma, it continues through people.
And if such meetings are held regularly, this will give a clear result - a strong and sustainable community around the university.
