Chingis Suleymenov, dean of the Veterinary and Agricultural Research School: "Raising agriculture to a new level is the basis of economic security and sustainable development of the country."
Today, at the joint session of the Parliament Chambers, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent his traditional Address to the people of Kazakhstan. This Address clarified the strategic directions of the country for the coming years and raised important social and economic issues. Among them, one of the topics that received special attention is the development of agriculture.
The head of state emphasized the need to raise agriculture to a new level. The main goal in this direction is to ensure the country's food security and minimize dependence on imports. Currently, some of the main food products in the Kazakhstan market are still imported, and this dependence increases economic risks. Therefore, it is important to develop our national products, improve their quality and actively introduce them to the foreign market.
As the President noted, there are several main directions of agricultural development. For example, if we talk about all-round support to farmers, it is known that support to local farmers and entrepreneurs is the main driving force of production growth in the countryside. In the end, this means the development of animal husbandry. Increasing the production of meat and dairy products by increasing the number of livestock, increasing the quality and productivity is one of the main indicators of agriculture. This is a guarantee of providing our country with quality, national food.
The head of state also raised the issue of efficient use of vacant land. Reprocessing of undeveloped and unused agricultural lands in the country, putting them into effective circulation - allows to expand production, create jobs and improve the socio-economic condition of the village.
What is important in the implementation of these directions is to consider agriculture as the main sector of the country's economy, to attract highly qualified specialists to this field and to work effectively on a production basis. Agriculture can achieve sustainable growth and high productivity only when modern technologies and innovations are introduced.
Therefore, the development of agriculture is the basis of the country's future, stable and competent life of the people.
