Dear friends!
Today, August 12, International Youth Day is celebrated all over the world.
Youth has always been a time of great expectations, search and choice. But the current generation will have to come of age during a period of particularly rapid change. Artificial intelligence is changing professions, new technologies are changing entire industries, science is offering solutions that only recently seemed impossible. And in many ways, it is young people who will determine what the world will be like in ten, twenty, thirty years.
Kazakhstan today has a young, educated and very mobile generation. You get an education at the best universities in the country and the world, do research, create startups, master new technologies, and participate in public life. The state opens up opportunities for young people through educational grants, scientific programs, academic mobility, support for young scientists and entrepreneurs.
It is important to be able to use these opportunities.
At the same time, now, at 18-20 years old, it is absolutely not necessary to have ready answers to all questions. What makes youth so valuable is that you can do a lot for the first time: choose a profession and, if necessary, change your choice, start research, create your own project, find like-minded people, gain your first serious professional experience and understand in which direction you want to move further.
The new school year will begin very soon. Shakarim University will once again be filled with students, and a completely new stage of life will begin for our freshmen. Some will come to Semey for the first time, others will live independently for the first time, meet future colleagues and friends, take their first steps in the profession and science.
The university should give a young person not only knowledge. His task is to create an environment in which you can develop, argue, explore, propose your own solutions, take responsibility and gradually become a professional.
I wish our youth not to be afraid to set big goals for themselves, to remain curious and demanding, first of all, of themselves. Learn, create, try new things and make the most of your time!
And remember: your knowledge, decisions and work today are gradually becoming part of the future of our country.
