On May 29-30, under the joint initiative of Shakarim University and the Abay Regional Union of Designers, a creative plein-air exhibition called "In the Footsteps of Shokan" was organized with the participation of artists known to our country and abroad - Kamil Mullashev, Toleugazy Baigaliev, Gulmaral Tattibai and Natalya Ligay. During the seminar, prominent representatives of Kazakhstan's visual arts shared their thoughts about their creative path, professional experience and artistic pursuits.

We wrote about the seminar held on the first day in our article "Kazakh Fine Art Education Promoted".

The second day of the plein air was dedicated to depicting historical and natural objects. The plein air started at Tinibai Mosque, one of the historical and cultural monuments of the city and one of the holy places associated with the life of Shokan Ualikhanov.

Guests first recited the Koran in the mosque, and then painted its architectural appearance on canvas. Teachers and students of Shakarim University's "Art" department also took an active part in outdoor works. Combining the architecture of the mosque with the surrounding nature, the artists wrote impressive works in the oil painting technique. Visitors to the mosque showed interest in the creative works of artists and students and gave high marks.

During the plein air, the uniqueness of each artist's perception of nature and the uniqueness of his creative signature were clearly observed. Students had the opportunity to observe the work of experienced artists and learn the ins and outs of painting. In addition, the teacher of the department, Talgat Tatiev, a well-known artist in our country, shared his creative experience and performed plein air work. Rahat Berikbol drew a graphic portrait of Kamil Mullashev and showed his skills.

In the afternoon, plein air participants went to the pine forest, one of the most beautiful places of Semey region, and continued their creative work in nature. The picturesque panoramic views of the coniferous forest provided a special inspiration to the artists. Plein air participants took part in master classes of well-known artists and art historians and received professional advice. This creative work, which took place in nature, allowed students to improve their professional skills and gain experience by working with artists of visual arts.
