Studying the potential of Alakol: the first results of a scientific expedition

The first stage of the field research trip was completed within the framework of the program “Comprehensive analysis of the natural, historical and cultural landscape potential of Alakol and the development of effective mechanisms for the development of recreational tourism.” As a result of the work carried out within the framework of the project, valuable data related to the tourism potential of the Alakol region were collected.

During the study, scientists held a joint scientific and expert meeting on the natural, historical, cultural and tourism potential of the Alakol River basin in the Makanshinsky district. During the expedition, ancient records and historical data related to the nature and geographical location of the Alakol region were collected. In addition, ancient legends associated with the system of balneological and peloidal resources of All-Arasan did not escape the attention of researchers.

Scientists observed the current state of recreational resources in the eastern part of the Alakol basin and took samples of mineral waters and medicinal mud of the Alakol region. Scientists from Zhetysu University named after Ilyas Zhansugirov took an active part in these field research works.

It is expected that field research work within the program will continue during the tourist season, which will allow the tourism potential of the Alakol region to be fully revealed.
