The delegation of Shakarim University visited Pamukkale University in Turkey, with which it has established a partnership since 2013. During the meeting, issues of supplementing long-term academic cooperation with new research projects, expanding research areas and implementing joint initiatives were discussed.

Pamukkale University is a state multidisciplinary higher education institution located in Denizli, Turkey. Until now, about 500 students of Shakarim University have studied at the said university within the framework of the academic mobility program. In addition, Turkish students participated in summer schools organized in Semipalatinsk, and the teaching staff of the two educational institutions exchanged experiences and gave lectures.

At the meeting, Shakarim University Rector Duman Orynbekov emphasized the importance of the historical and cultural continuity between the two countries in the field of education and science. We are connected by a common historical root, linguistic affinity and cultural values. We believe that the mutual trust of our universities and the friendship of our youth is the continuation of this brotherhood in education and science. I thank you for many years of cooperation and your support today. Let the common roots of our fraternal nations become a solid foundation for the joint work of our universities. I believe that the new contract will expand the opportunities of our youth and open the way to common results in science and education.

The delegation included specialists responsible for scientific and academic activities, engineering and agrarian research, cultural heritage and tourism, as well as university management. This will complement the partnership with specific projects and strengthen direct communication between specialists.

The scope of joint research will expand

One of the main areas of scientific cooperation is food engineering and bioengineering systems. In these areas, it is planned to conduct joint research on food safety, product quality, processing technologies and biotechnology.

Experience exchange on plant and animal husbandry, agrarian biotechnology, breeding and genetic research is planned within the Agrotechnopark direction. Priority will be given to combining the potential of scientific groups with laboratory work and applied tasks.

Possibilities of implementing joint projects in the fields of automation, information technology and construction were also considered. In particular, it was proposed to identify common scientific topics in the directions of automation of processes, data processing, development of digital solutions, research of building materials and constructions. In addition, it is planned to get acquainted with Pamukkale University's experience in the field of campus infrastructure development and energy efficiency.

Another important area of cooperation is tourism. Research staff of Shakarim University intend to carry out a project aimed at comprehensively studying the natural, historical and cultural-landscape potential of Alakol Lake and developing effective mechanisms for the development of recreational tourism.

On this occasion, it is planned to exchange experience with specialists of Pamukkale University on the issues of evaluating tourist resources, developing sustainable tourism, forming tourist routes and managing tourist areas.

Shakarim University is implementing a project aimed at comprehensive research of the spiritual heritage of the poet from the literary-cultural, historical-ethnographic, geographical and linguistic point of view, its presentation in the digital environment and the development of ethno-tourism. In this regard, joint initiatives will be undertaken to conduct comparative research, develop translation works, study historical data, and present spiritual heritage in digital format.

During the meeting, the leadership of the two universities also discussed the issue of opening a Center for Sugar Studies at Pamukkale University.
