Academic integrity is the basis of quality education: the work of the monitoring commission has begun at Shakarim University
A monitoring commission has begun work at NJSC “Shakarim University”, which assesses the university’s compliance with the standards of the League of Academic Integrity, and also analyzes the presence of corruption risks.
The work of the commission takes place from April 22 to April 24, 2026 and is an important step on the university’s path to joining the League of Academic Integrity.
The Academic Integrity League is an association of higher and postgraduate education organizations in the Republic of Kazakhstan, whose mission is to improve the quality of education through the introduction and promotion of the principles of academic integrity.
The League’s activities are based on key principles:
- recognition of academic integrity as a basic value of education and science
- compliance with transparent and objective standards of assessment and behavior
- mandatory checking of all written work for plagiarism
- responsibility of students for violations of the principles of honesty
- high academic requirements and a fair assessment system
- focus on the quality of training and production of competitive specialists
- the special role of the teacher as a mentor and bearer of the values of honesty
- collective responsibility of students and staff for compliance with the principles
- commitment to fulfill all obligations and standards of the League
