Water management specialists are in great demand
It is true that efficient and economical use of water is becoming a global problem today. In particular, maintaining mutual cooperation of states located in the region of transboundary rivers, jointly solving pressing issues plays an important role.
Although it is one of the major rivers, the Irtysh River, which originates in China and flows into Russia, is considered the main source of water for our country.
It should be noted that the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation was established a few years ago on the initiative of the head of state, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and its representative offices and institutions began to work intensively in the regions. In the regions, it is necessary to increase the number of specialists who can observe the possibilities of these water resources and analyze their quantities.
That is why today Medet Zhadigeruly, head of the Irtysh Basin Water Inspection of the Water Resources Regulation, Protection and Use Committee under the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Duman Orynbekov, rector of Shakarim University, signed a "Memorandum of Cooperation" strengthening mutual relations.
- Institutions under the Department of Water Management have been established in our region. Now it is very necessary to attract specialists in this field. Now we have 9 graduates of Shakarim University working in their specialties at the Irtys Inspectorate. If we talk about water management specialists, they are hydraulic engineers, hydrologists, meliotrators, and holders of indirect specialties such as land relations, ecologist, etc., there is a place in our institution. In general, the Irtys River is regulated by three reservoirs. Buktyrma, Uskemen reservoir in East Kazakhstan region and Shulbi reservoir in Abai region. There is an open way for the specialists responsible for the work of such issues as the injection of water reserves in these objects, control of water accumulation in accordance with the appropriate rate, taking into account natural phenomena, climate changes. The main thing is that we prefer to establish a close relationship with Shakarim University in this direction as well as with other educational institutions and make a memorandum,- says Medet Zhadigeruly, head of the Irtys basin water inspection.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the use of water in the country and around the world. Rector of the university Duman Rymgalyuly emphasized the importance of training specialists in water management at the educational institution in addition to reaching a bilateral agreement in the new period.
-The issue of transboundary water is always relevant in our Abai country. We believe that within the framework of today's partnership communication, students of environmental protection, ecology specialties will have an opportunity to get experience and organize dual education. In addition, this year we intend to open a new educational program called "Water resources and transboundary security". At present, work is being done to enter the state register.
