Semei Institute of Technology, military service in the ranks of the Soviet Army, engineering work at the Semey Meat Plant... After that, the path of fate brought me to internal affairs bodies, criminal investigation service. Later, I worked in financial police bodies for almost twenty years. Now I am a pensioner on vacation. I have a big family.

Our institute has always been appreciated for its strong engineering school. Here we were given basic education, taught to think, make decisions, respect our profession. Our teachers were real professionals in their field. That is why the graduates of the institute worked in the largest enterprises of the country.

Later the institute turned into a university. Today it bears the name of the great thinker Shakarim Kudaiberdiuly. It means a lot to me. I was born in Abay district. Shakarim is an integral part of our history, culture, and spiritual memory. Therefore, I consider giving the name of Shakarim to the university as a return to our roots, our spiritual origin.

The name of Shakarim on the university's signboard sets a great direction and high standards for every student studying here. Especially for every citizen born in this soil, this name has a different place. Shakarim urged a person to be educated, to work, to improve himself. I think that university graduates should become equally educated, hardworking citizens who benefit the country. Therefore, my wish to today's students is to become real citizens of Kazakhstan. Respect your teachers. Wherever you go, don't forget your birthplace and roots. Remember that a diploma is not the end, but only the beginning of a great life.

I wish my hometown Semey, all my fellow students, the teachers who educated us, and the staff of Shakarim University great success, new achievements, perfect development and prosperity!
