Gambling is the road to destruction
An important event on the topic "Ludomania among young people: causes, consequences and psychological and social impact" was organized by the Psychological Support Service of Shakarim University.
At the event aimed at increasing the level of awareness among young people about the issue of ludomania, explaining the causes and consequences of addictive behavior, forming a culture of taking responsibility for financial and behavioral risks, effective ways of preventing danger and providing psychological assistance were also widely discussed.
At the meeting focused on analysis and open exchange of opinions, industry experts shared their experiences. In particular, the head of the "Luch" rehabilitation center, Anna Likhomanova, made a report on the topic "Causes and factors of gambling addiction among young people" and spoke in detail about the psychological, social and economic prerequisites of gambling addiction. He noted that factors such as risk-taking tendency of young people, emotional instability, influence of social environment play an important role.
Beknazar Akimzhanov, a psychologist of the said center, talked about "Experience and practical cases in working with addictive behavior" and presented effective methods of combating addiction with concrete examples. He paid special attention to the importance of providing psychological support, increasing motivation, and social adjustment.
During the event, the participants exchanged opinions and discussed ways to prevent ludomania among young people, including strengthening informational and educational work, increasing the role of family education and psychological support.
At the end of the meeting, Askar Kasymov, vice-rector for strategy and social development of the university, summarized the event and focused on the relevance of the issues raised. He noted that maintaining the psychological health of young people is one of the most important tasks of the society and thanked the speakers. Also, letters of thanks were presented to active participants and guests.
