Family, books and upbringing: harmony of spiritual values
At Shakarim University, a round table meeting was held on the occasion of the National Book Day entitled "Family book reading as an important part of spiritual and moral education".
The main goal of the event was to create a culture of reading among young people, to strengthen the spiritual bond between parents and children, and to glorify moral qualities through national values. This meeting made it possible to re-examine the importance of books, especially family reading, in the modern age of digitization.
During the round table, Candidate of Psychological Sciences of the Department of Linguistic Communication, Associate Professor Oksana Gennadievna Belenko made a meaningful report on the topic "The role of early emotional relationships in the formation of family values." In his speech, he emphasized the crucial role of family respect, love and kindness in raising children. In particular, he focused on the role and responsibility of parents in a child's life and scientifically explained that the emotional connection formed at an early age directly affects the development of personality.
In addition, Oksana Gennadievna focused on the research conducted by scientists in the middle of the 20th century on the theory of "The Nature of Love". In particular, American researcher Harry Harlow, one of the first psychologists who scientifically studied the nature of human love and refuted the dominant view of that time that "Love arises only from the need for food (biological need)", revealed the importance of maternal affection and emotional closeness in child psychology. It was said that the scientist's experiments with Bengal macaques proved that communication and warmth are more important than any material needs. These examples have once again made it clear that the place of spiritual connection between parents and children is different.
Students of the Research School of Food Engineering and the Research School of Physics and Chemical Sciences actively participated in the event and shared their thoughts. Students made informative presentations on the topics "Kazakh national education", "Kazakh family education", "Family book reading", "The benefits of daily book reading", "The power of the press in the era of digitization", "April 23 - National Book Day", "Kabdesh Zhumadilov and his novel "Fate".
During the reports, important issues such as the features of education based on national values in the Kazakh family, succession of generations, as well as formation of spiritual development of a person through reading books were mentioned. Students expressed their views freely and deeply thought about the place and importance of the book in human life.
At the end of the event, the vice-rector for science Zhanar Kalibekovyna presented letters of thanks to the students actively participating in the public life of the university. And the organizer, Master of Pedagogical Sciences G. Mamaeva expressed her gratitude to the participants and noted that such educational meetings will continue in the future.
This round table was a meaningful and educational event that showed that books are not only a source of knowledge, but also an important tool for strengthening spiritual ties within the family.
