Stepping into global science: Professional growth through an overseas internship
Foreign scientific internship is an important component of modern science and education system. It allows doctoral students to enter the international scientific environment, to gain new knowledge and experience, as well as to increase their professional level. In the conditions of globalization, science does not obey borders, so foreign internship is an effective way to step into global science.
In this regard, Shakarim University is regularly conducting complex and systematic work aimed at increasing the scientific potential of students within the framework of international cooperation. From June 1 to July 27, 2026, a number of doctoral students are undergoing scientific internships at higher educational institutions in Poland, Russia, Lithuania, Armenia, and Turkey.
The 1st and 2nd year doctoral students of the "Automation and Management" educational program Asem Duysenbaeva, Bekkasimova Danar are working on the widespread use of machine learning methods in the laboratories of Dogush University (Istanbul, Turkey) and based on the results of their research, A.K. Duysenbaeva gave a report on "ExpWizard: an intellectual bridge between system administration and inclusive education" and is increasing her research activities;
In addition, 2nd year doctoral students of the educational program "Technical Physics" and "Technological Machines and Equipment" Berikhan Kaiyrzhan, Zhasulan Ainur, Ormanbekov Kuanysh, Shynarbek Aibek studied the mechanical and tribological properties of micro-arc oxidation coatings in the laboratories of AGH Scientific and Technical University (Krakow, Poland) using 3D profilometry, scratch test and tribological tests. Rinat Kurmangaliev, 3rd year doctoral student of Technical Physics Department, at the Wroclaw University of Technology (Wroclaw, Poland) on determination of physico-chemical processes of cathode electrolytic-plasma saturation with carbon of low-carbon steel;
Daniyarova Ayaulym, 2nd year doctoral student of the educational program "Technological machines and equipment" - at the Biological Research Institute of Yerevan State University (Yerevan, Armenia) on the production of bioproducts (biohydrogen, biomethane, biomass, etc.) from the substrate based on beet pulp;
PhD students of the 3rd year of the "History" educational program at Zhumataev Azamat-Uly Vytautas University (Kaunas, Lithuania) and Kairollaev Nursultan-Altai State Pedagogical University (Barnaul, RF) are conducting research on the development of a structural and content model of history teaching based on the methodology of local studies, the analysis of pedagogical technologies aimed at developing students' historical thinking skills.
A scientific internship is a powerful tool for professional and personal development. It allows researchers to enter the global scientific space, improve their knowledge and be internationally competitive.
