The teacher's legacy is a testament to future generations
Education has always been and remains the basis for the development of society and the future of the country. Passing on knowledge to the younger generation and preparing qualified specialists is an honorable mission that requires high responsibility, constant professional search and excellence.
October 1 is a special day when the work of teachers and education workers is honored. In this regard, a solemn event was held at Shakarim University dedicated to the Day of Higher Education Workers and the Day of Older Persons.
Before the start of the festive event, cues performed by the university orchestra were played in the foyer of the university, creating an atmosphere of celebration and good mood. The festive program was opened by a choral composition performed by music students.
Rector of Shakarim University Duman Orynbekov addressed the participants of the celebration with a welcoming speech.
“Today, the era of digital technologies places new demands on the higher education system. A modern university should be not only a place for acquiring knowledge, but also a space where new ideas and scientific discoveries, technologies and innovations, young professionals and scientists meet.
The results of the university’s development and large-scale work in recent years cannot but rejoice. One of the clearest confirmations of this was the international UI GreenMetric rating, the results of which were announced just the day before. This year, Shakarim University took 526th place in the world ranking and 6th place among higher educational institutions in Kazakhstan. This is a concrete result of the systematic work of the university team in the field of sustainable development, improving the educational environment, modernizing infrastructure and strengthening scientific potential.
However, we did not reach these achievements on our own. Behind every achievement there is a person. Behind every result is the work of the teacher. Therefore, I would like to especially note the significant contribution of the teaching staff, our scientists and all employees to the current achievements of the university,” noted Duman Rymgalievich.
In his speech, the rector also emphasized the special significance of the fact that the professional holiday coincides with the Day of the Elderly, and expressed sincere gratitude to representatives of the older generation who have made a significant contribution to the formation and development of the university.
“Today among us are veterans who have been for many years dedicated to pedagogical work, made a huge contribution to the formation of the university’s educational system, the development of science and the education of many generations of qualified specialists. The path you paved continues in today's achievements of the university.
In the classrooms where you once gave lectures, teachers of a new generation work today and our students gain knowledge. The scientific research you started continues, and your students, in turn, are already raising a new generation. This is the main result of the teacher’s work. Therefore, respect for the older generation is not only a tribute to the past, but also a responsibility to the future,” said the rector of the university.
As part of the gala event, employees who made a significant contribution to the development of education and science, as well as to the activities of the university were awarded.
The head of the Department of Economics and Finance, Aigul Zeinullina, was awarded the badge “Ana Tilin Damytuga” "Koskan ulesі ushіn." Senior lecturer of the Department of Foreign and Russian Languages Aigul Turikpenova was awarded an honorary diploma “Til Zhanashyry”, and acting associate professor (associate professor) of the same department Aizhan Akkalieva was awarded an honorary diploma “Zhogary zhane zhogary oku ornynan keyingi bilim beru іsіnің Uzdigi".
The honorary diploma "Gylym Uzdigi" was awarded to Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Innovation Erasyl Dulatbay, Head of the Department of Construction and Geodesy Ilyas Zhumadilov and Professor of the Department of Chemistry and Biology Zhandos Mukaev.
In addition, a number of university employees were awarded Certificates of Honor and Letters of Gratitude Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The ceremonial meeting continued with a festive concert program. Diana Sergazina and Sara Keldibekova performed on the university stage, giving the audience bright musical performances and a good mood. The dance group of the student youth theater "Karagoz" presented the dance "Erke Sylkym", which was warmly welcomed by the audience. The Semipalatinsk group “Saryn” also graced the festive evening with their performance.
Concluding the festive event, the university team once again expressed respect to colleagues who devoted themselves to education and science, paid tribute to the older generation and emphasized the special role of the teacher in the development of society.
