Technology that breathed new life into the university

Technology that breathed new life into the university

For today's university, mastering artificial intelligence is only one condition for meeting the requirements of the times. And an even more important issue is to not only master artificial intelligence, but to effectively use it in real work. This is a new stage of digital transformation in the field of education.

At Shakarim University, this direction is taking shape as a consistent system. It is based on digital infrastructure, competences in the field of artificial intelligence, AI-tools for solving specific tasks, and all this is included in the daily work processes of the university. That is, the goal is not just to use technology, but to improve the way the university works with the help of technology.

One of the important projects in this direction is the AI-Sana national program. Thanks to the AI-Sana program, hundreds of new projects based on artificial intelligence have been born in the universities of Kazakhstan.

For Shakarim University, AI-Sana is one of the large-scale initiatives aimed at increasing digital literacy and widely mastering the capabilities of artificial intelligence. At the initial stage of the program, all university students passed certification. And in the first stage, 1,413 students successfully completed the program and received appropriate certificates.

This is a good result. However, the true effectiveness of any training program is not measured by the number of certificates obtained. What is important is the transformation of acquired knowledge into solving specific tasks. Therefore, introducing artificial intelligence into educational, research and management processes was set as the next task for the university.

Today, the university's AI ecosystem has eleven AI agents in various stages of preparation. The peculiarity of artificial intelligence agents is that each of them is directed to a specific task. They are aimed at solving specific tasks such as analyzing academic work, supporting applicants, providing professional guidance, identifying academic risks, monitoring campus infrastructure, and allocating places in dormitories.

In this way, artificial intelligence is gradually entering certain areas of university life, becoming a tool that allows organizing its internal processes at a new level.

At the same time, Shakarim AI Anomaly Agent deserves special attention. It is an intelligent software component for early detection of abnormal conditions in the operation of the digital campus. Its main task is to detect a possible risk in advance and give a timely signal to the responsible specialists.

Any university campus has its own rhythm of life. On certain days of the week, the flow of students increases, and at other times activity in the buildings decreases. If there is more traffic in the morning, the normal figure is much lower at night. Here, artificial intelligence can analyze these anomalies based on the data.

Shakarim AI Anomaly Agent differentiates the past and current generalized data of the campus and forms a model of its normal operation. The system then detects deviations from these normal indicators in real-time.

For example, an unusually sharp increase or decrease in the flow of people in a certain building, abnormal activity at night, a sudden increase in traffic or an increase in the frequency of minor malfunctions in digital systems - all these may be signs that require further investigation.

The agent does not make decisions for a human in such a situation. It does not directly interfere with the operation of systems. His duty is to indicate the area, time and nature of the abnormality and report it to the responsible officer. That is, the final decision is always made by a person.

This approach is very important. Because artificial intelligence is used not to replace a person, but to provide information necessary for him to make the right decision in a timely manner.

When it comes to a smart campus, along with technology capabilities, the issue of information security and ethics are also at the forefront.

Shakarim AI Anomaly Agent does not engage in personal recognition, does not store video materials, and is not used as a tool for monitoring the educational process of students. The technology is focused on ensuring the stable and secure operation of the campus, not on the individual's data. This is an important example of responsible use of artificial intelligence.
