The study of historical names: the scientific work was presented

An important scientific and educational event was held at Shakarim University within the framework of the "Decade of Science". The presentation of the book "Historical toponyms of Abay region" - the joint work of scientists of Shakarim University "History and Archeology" scientific center and "History" department - was organized on the basis of the order of the Department of Culture, Language Development and Archives of Abay Region.

During the event, Mukhtarbek Karimov, a representative of the older generation of historians of the region, professor, candidate of historical sciences, spoke and spoke about the scientific importance of labor and its place in the education of the younger generation.

The mentioned work is a valuable scientific study that revives the historical memory of the region and opens the way to the recognition of the past and cultural-spiritual nature of the people through place-names. The origin of toponyms is systematized in the book, and their historical, linguistic and ethno-cultural features are comprehensively differentiated. This work is evaluated as one of the important sources that provide a basis for a deeper study of the history of the region.

Scientist of the Faculty of History and Archaeology, professor Amantai Isauli, who delivered the congratulatory speech, emphasized the relevance of the project and its importance in the development of the science of domestic toponymy.

As another fruitful result of scientific cooperation, a documentary film on the topic "Toponyms of Abay region" was presented to the public. The film deeply revealed the formation of historical and geographical names of the region and their meaning.
