Common scientific interests - the beginning of a new partnership

Shared scientific interests - from veterinary medicine and bioengineering to computer engineering and language teaching - brought together scientists from Shakarim University and Dokuz Eylül University. During the meeting in Izmir, the management and staff of the university, led by Professor Hamdi Şukur Kılıç, warmly received the delegation from Kazakhstan and discussed specific research topics and proposals for the development of cooperation.

Dokuz Eylül University is one of the universities in Turkey with high research potential. In the QS World University Rankings 2027, the university ranks in the range 1201–1400. The university has 39 centers focused on the development of scientific research and applied developments. In addition, the DEPARK technology park and the DETTO technology transfer office contribute to the implementation of scientific results in production, the development of innovative projects and strengthening ties between the academic environment and business. These opportunities create favorable conditions for joint applied research with Shakarim University and practical testing of scientific developments.

During the meeting, Shakarim University Rector Duman Orynbekov thanked the host for the hospitality and emphasized the importance of developing scientific and academic cooperation between the two universities.

“The multidisciplinary structure of Dokuz Eylül University, its experience as a research university and international relations are important to us. We would like to get to know your research teams and discuss in which areas we could cooperate. I am confident that today’s meeting will allow us to establish interaction between specialists from the two universities and determine our common academic and scientific interests,” noted Duman Rymgalievich.

The extended meeting discussed opportunities for cooperation in the field of veterinary medicine, animal science, biotechnology, bioengineering, computer engineering, teaching foreign languages and translation. The parties discussed the scientific potential of each area, paying special attention to strengthening ties between researchers and identifying topics of mutual interest.

One of the priority areas was cooperation in the field of veterinary medicine and livestock farming. For specialists of the agrotechnopark and veterinary profile of Shakarim University, the exchange of experience with the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Dokuz Eylül University is of particular value. In particular, issues of animal feeding, analysis of the composition and quality of feed, breeding and increasing the productivity of farm animals have significant potential for joint research. Cooperation in these areas will combine the scientific experience of the parties and expand the possibilities of applied research.

Interest in joint work was expressed in the field of biotechnology and bioengineering. The parties emphasized the importance of establishing contacts between scientific groups working in these areas, as well as exchanging information about their research topics and laboratory capabilities.
