Engineering and advanced technologies: the path to new opportunities

The delegation of Shakarim University held a meeting at Istanbul Technical University and discussed the priority directions for the development of scientific relations in the fields of engineering and technology. The meeting focused on issues of education, academic mobility, conducting joint research and practical application of scientific developments.

Istanbul Technical University, founded in 1773, has extensive experience in the field of engineering education and technological research. In the QS World University Rankings 2027, the educational institution ranked 279th in the world and is the leader among Turkish universities. The scientific and educational potential of the university opens up new opportunities for Shakarim University to conduct joint research, strengthen professional ties of researchers, and exchange experience of students. The representatives of the two universities identified areas of common scientific interest and considered ways to combine joint work with concrete projects.

Shakarim University Rector Duman Orynbekov noted the rich experience of Istanbul Technical University in engineering education and scientific research and emphasized the importance of combining the scientific potential of the two higher educational institutions. He emphasized the need to develop scientific relations through specific initiatives and implement academic mobility, research internships, and joint projects. We highly appreciate your experience in directing scientific results to technology, and technology to the needs of society and production. The purpose of today's meeting is to identify common scientific interests of the two educational institutions and turn them into real work. We consider academic mobility, research internships and collaborative research projects as interconnected areas.

I would like to recommend food engineering and biotechnology research as a first priority. We are interested in establishing contact between our researchers on food processing, preservation, improvement of production processes and the use of biotechnological methods.

Among the priority areas proposed by the rector are food engineering and biotechnological research, artificial intelligence and engineering modeling, as well as material science, energy and environmental technologies. issues were also considered. According to the rector, internships should be connected with specific research tasks, and their results should be reflected by learning new methods, conducting scientific research or developing joint publications. In addition, opportunities for exchange of experience in the areas of participation in international research projects, development of joint applications, commercialization of scientific results and support of student entrepreneurship were discussed. Determining common scientific topics and clarifying the tasks and contribution of each party opens the way for systematic implementation of international projects.

In the conclusion of the meeting, it was proposed to strengthen the relationship between the scientific groups of the two universities, to designate the coordinators of the parties, and to determine the priority research topics.

The meeting at Istanbul Technical University was an important step towards expanding Shakarim University's international scientific relations and exploring new opportunities in the field of engineering education and advanced technologies. The future task is to combine scientific potential and turn common initiatives into real research, technological solutions and practical results.
