Important issues were discussed at the Scientific Council

Today at Shakarim University, in anticipation of the Decade of Science and as part of the discussion on the university's strategic development, key areas of activity, work performed, and future plans were extensively reviewed.

University Rector Duman Orynbekov solemnly presented a congratulatory letter from the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balayeva on the occasion of the birthday of Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Arap Espenbetov. In addition, in accordance with the order of the Chairman of the Committee for Quality Assurance in the Sphere of Science and Higher Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated March 5, 2026, "On the Conferment of the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)," PhD diplomas in the educational program "6D073500 – Food Safety" were awarded to Galiya Imankulova (scientific consultant: Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Zhanar Kalibekkyzy) and Zhibek Atambayeva (scientific consultant: Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Almagul Nurgazezova).

The Science Council was held in the "Alashtanu" auditorium, named after the prominent Alash scholar Professor Tursyn Zhurtbay, which was commissioned at the beginning of this year. During the meeting, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Beyimbet Daribayev reported in detail on the results achieved by the university and current agenda items. In his report "On the Current State of the Higher School of Business and Communications and the Higher School of Digital Technologies and Construction," issues of the educational process and specialist training were also widely covered.

On behalf of the University Council of Veterans, Professor Zeinolla Tokayev and Professor Arap Espenbetov spoke and shared their suggestions and opinions.

University Rector Duman Orynbekov brought up for discussion issues regarding the location and naming of academic buildings, and also emphasized the importance of improving the Shakarim Museum.
