Edil ZHUMABEK: “The quality of a university today is determined by the professionalism of teachers, but also by the comfort of buildings

A graduate of the Graduate School of Business and Communication at Shakarim University on why modern education is becoming the main competitive advantage

After graduating from college and serving in the army, Yedil Zhumabek consciously chose to study at the Graduate School of Business and Communication at Shakarim University.

According to him, the university turned out to be much broader than the usual idea of higher education.

A modern university today is not only lecture halls. This is a comfortable educational environment, modern laboratories, digital technologies, spaces for independent work and team projects, a developed infrastructure that allows a student not only to gain knowledge, but to live a full university life. It is these conditions that create an atmosphere in which you want to learn, develop and set higher goals for yourself.

- I saw how the university changed over the years of my studies. Academic buildings were updated, modern classrooms, laboratories, and comfortable spaces for students appeared. But the most important thing is that we ourselves changed along with the university. When you are surrounded by a modern educational environment, strong teachers and motivated students, you begin to think differently, become more demanding of yourself and understand that development is a continuous process

When I entered, I expected to gain knowledge in my specialty. But in the end I got much more. The university taught us to analyze, work in a team, think systematically and understand how quickly the modern world is changing.

The graduate considers the teaching staff to be the main advantage of studying.

In his opinion, it is the quality of the teaching staff that today becomes the main indicator of the level of the university.

The teachers made the strongest impression on me. These are specialists who have not only deep theoretical knowledge, but also serious practical experience. They explain not just textbook material, but show how this knowledge works in real economics, business and management. Thanks to this, learning becomes truly applied.

It is especially important, Yedil notes, that the university constantly updates the content of educational programs.

Today it is no longer enough for a student to master only his specialty.

You need to understand modern technologies, digital tools, the basics of analytics, communication and management.

- Today, employers are looking for more than just graduates with a diploma. They are looking for people who can think, adapt quickly, make decisions and constantly learn. These are the competencies that form a modern university.

Over the years of study, he witnessed serious changes taking place at Shakarim University. Learning spaces have changed. Modern audiences have emerged. New educational opportunities. International cooperation has expanded.

But the most important change, the graduate believes, was the atmosphere of the university itself.

- Of course, it’s nice to see how the university’s infrastructure is changing. Modern classrooms, comfortable spaces, new equipment. But the most important thing is that the students themselves change along with the university. We become more confident, more professional, and begin to think bigger.

In his opinion, today's generation of students is noticeably different from previous ones. Young people quickly absorb new knowledge, work more easily with modern technologies and understand how rapidly the labor market is changing.

And the task of the university is not just to provide education, but to teach graduates to be ready for these changes.

After graduating from university, Yedil plans to continue his professional path in the banking sector.

He is convinced that the knowledge gained at Shakarim University will become a solid foundation for his future career.

He addresses simple words to future students.

- Take advantage of everything the university has to offer. Learn from teachers, ask questions, participate in projects, don't just limit yourself to the curriculum. This is where the foundation that will determine your future career is formed. The time spent at the university will definitely bring results if you use it usefully.
