The working visit of the Board of Directors continued

Chairman of the Board of Directors, Kunsulu Daltonovna Zakarya, who came to Shakarim University on a working visit, and the members of the board spent the second day of their visit getting acquainted with the material and technical base, scientific potential and infrastructural development of the university. This day was full of meaningful meetings that showed the real results achieved by the educational institution in recent years.

Rector Duman Rymgalyuly, Chairman of the Board of the University, gave a comprehensive report on the large-scale modernization works carried out in recent years. In order to create a favorable environment for students and teachers, complex repair works are being systematically carried out at the university.

Members of the Board of Directors first visited the renovated sports complex No. 1. Here he saw a modern swimming pool, sports and gymnasiums, which were completely renovated and put into operation in January this year. He also visited the Students' House and familiarized himself with the favorable conditions for the life of young people. The updated infrastructure showed that the university prioritizes not only quality education, but also comprehensive development of students.

The next facility was the Engineering Center. Its head, Rinat Kusayinov, introduced the work of the center. The guests were shown the scientific works of the "Plasma technologies of material surface processing" and "Materials science and electrolytic-plasma technologies" laboratories.

Comprehensive researches are conducted in these laboratories in the direction of strengthening and restoration of parts necessary for machine-building, application of irradiation and plasma processing technologies, testing of mechanical properties of materials, analysis of their structure and quality. Such scientific works respond to the real demand of production facilities and strengthen the effective connection between science and production.

During the visit, the guests got acquainted with the work of Shakarim Lab, a modern scientific research site of the university. The director of the laboratory, Aleksey Klivenko, gave a detailed report on the scientific projects implemented here.

Today, Shakarim Lab is one of the modern scientific centers that combines basic and applied science and engages young scientists in innovative activities. Large-scale theoretical and practical research is being conducted here in the direction of veterinary, agricultural and animal husbandry products processing.

Guests got acquainted with high-precision chemical analysis methods in the Mass Spectrometry Department, opportunities to study the microstructure of materials in the Electron Microscopy Department, and the activities of the recently opened "Industrial Waste Treatment Technologies" laboratory.

During the visit, Duman Rymgalyuly gave specific information about the pace of development of university science.

– Over the past three years, the share of young scientists at the university has increased from 30 percent to 55 percent. This is the result of systematic support of science by the Head of State and the Government. If in 2023 the total amount of financing of scientific research was 257 million tenge, today this figure has reached 2.5 billion tenge, - he said.

In turn, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Kunsulu Daltonovna, praised the achievements of the university in a short period of time and emphasized the professional management ability of the Rector Duman Rymgalyuly. He said that the pace of development of the university is the result of effective management, systematic planning and joint work of the team.

Members of the board of directors then familiarized themselves with the work of the scientific-practical center "Valorization of products of the agro-industrial complex" aimed at deep processing of agro-industrial products and industrial waste.

Kairat Bekbayev, professor of Science of the university, head of scientific and technical programs funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, presented the scientific projects of the center.

According to the scientist, the main scientific direction of the center is the transformation of plant organic waste into bioproducts with high added value. Among them, the technology of biohydrogen production is of special importance.

This is one of the most relevant trends in world science today. In Kazakhstan, a unique scientific center that systematically studies the technology of production of biohydrogen from agricultural waste works at Shakarim University.

Besides, comprehensive scientific research is being conducted here in the direction of biomethane, bioethanol, biobutanol and biomass production. The main goal of scientists is to contribute to the development of the "green economy" by fully processing agricultural waste and producing environmentally friendly products and organic fertilizers.

The next destination of the trip was the "Agrotechnopark" laboratories of the university. Chingiz Suleymenov introduced his activities.

Today, important scientific works are carried out here, such as microbiological examinations, determination of radiation safety of food products, evaluation of the quality of dairy products, patho-anatomical studies, determination of the physico-chemical composition of plant products.

According to Chingis Suleymenov, here students get involved in scientific projects early and learn how to work with modern equipment. In addition, teachers and young researchers are given every opportunity to implement new research projects.

In April this year, the "Selection Center of Sheep Breeding" started its work here and undertook important projects aimed at the scientific development of animal husbandry in the region.

At the end of the visit, the members of the Board of Directors visited the production workshops of the university, saw a number of lecture rooms in educational building No. 3, and did not neglect the work of the admissions committee.

He also got acquainted with the "Zhas-star" co-working center, which was renovated on the basis of the former cafeteria building and is designed to support creative and intellectual initiatives of students. The transformation of the building, which has been unused for many years, into a modern youth space is a clear manifestation of the university's desire to breathe new life into every facility and create it for the benefit of students.

During the visit, the representatives of the Board of Directors got acquainted with the work of the admissions committee. He met with the volunteer students who are guiding the new entrants and expressed his gratitude for their activity.

In his speech, Kunsulu Zakarya noted that the rapid development of Shakarim University in recent years is the result of the joint work of the university management, teaching staff and all employees.

- Today, the pace of development of the university is clearly visible. This is the result of tireless work of the management, teachers and employees led by rector Duman Rymgaliuly. The two-day working visit of the representatives of the board of directors gave an opportunity to comprehensively present the current direction of development, scientific potential and material and technical capabilities of Shakarim University.
