Shakarim University and the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in the field of physics and mathematics in Semipalatinsk jointly held an international scientific and practical forum entitled "Mathematics and artificial intelligence: at the intersection of science and education". The large-scale event was organized within the framework of the "Concept of Development of Digital Transformation for 2023-2029" approved by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The forum was attended by scientists and teachers of Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Kyrgyzstan and Russia, as well as mathematics teachers of schools of Abay region. This meeting brought together the experience of different scientific schools and allowed for the formation of common thoughts and new ideas.

During the plenary session, domestic and foreign leading scientists comprehensively analyzed the directions of development of fundamental mathematics, as well as the application possibilities of artificial intelligence technologies. The main goal of the forum was to deeply analyze the current transformation of mathematical science, to define new directions of mathematical education in the era of artificial intelligence, and to strengthen international scientific dialogue and academic partnership.

Zhanar Kalibekovyna, vice-rector for science of the university, opened the meeting and emphasized the importance of the forum in increasing the interaction of science and education. Vice-rector for academic affairs Beyimbet Darbayev conveyed the good wishes of rector Duman Orynbekov due to his business trip abroad.

The first speech was given to Suragan Durbethan, professor of Nazarbayev University, PhD, academician of the Academy of Sciences. He wrote "The Million Dollar Question: What is Beauty in Mathematics?" In his informative report on the subject, he noted that mathematics is not just a set of problems, but a special tool for improving human thinking.

The scientist said: "No matter how much artificial intelligence develops, it cannot replace the human brain. Therefore, first of all, we need to develop our thinking ability. "Mathematics is one of the most effective ways of that development," he said, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and hard work in education.

Dr. Lily Nurliana Binti Abdullah, Professor of Putra University, Malaysia, in her presentation on "Mathematical Foundations of Artificial Neural Networks and Their Applications" explained the theoretical foundation of neural networks and their role in modern technologies.

And Abdikadi Mustafaev, a well-known scientist who has been the head of the mathematics department at Shakarim University for many years and is currently an associate professor of the Kazakh National Girls' Pedagogical University, discussed the topic "Differentiated teaching of mathematics and artificial intelligence" and emphasized the importance of individualizing the educational process, improving teaching methods and teaching according to students' abilities.

Zh. in Bishkek. Nazira Kaidiyeva, associate professor of the Balasagun Kyrgyz National University, candidate of pedagogic sciences, presented ways to introduce digital technologies in the higher education system and improve students' mathematical training in her report "Improving students' mathematical knowledge in the context of AI".

The forum covering the fundamental areas of mathematical science, its connection with artificial intelligence and new trends in the education system was full of meaningful discussions, new proposals and scientific innovations. The participants exchanged experiences and determined directions for joint research in the future.

The forum's professional practice area continued at the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Semey, where teachers practically discussed the issues of effective integration of artificial intelligence tools into the educational process, appropriate use of digital resources, and development of students' creative and critical thinking skills. In addition, during the lesson, specific examples of the use of AI technologies were shown, and master classes were organized for teachers.
