INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC-CULTURAL MEETING
On February 2, 2026, an online international scientific and cultural meeting of Shakarim University scientists with the partner Xi'an Jiaotong University (PRC) was held in the Scientific Council Hall.
From Shakarim University: Member of the Board, Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Innovations Yerasyl Dulatbay, Head of Shakarim Studies Research Center Turdykul Shanbai, representative of International Cooperation Center Diana Nurgazina, and from Xi'an Jiaotong University: Professor Chen Hongbin and representatives of International Cooperation Center of Xi'an Jiaotong University (PRC) participated. The first speaker was E.A. Dulatbay:
-Dear Professor Chen Hongbin, dear colleagues! Within the strategic partnership between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the People's Republic of China, cooperation in the fields of higher education, science and culture is of particular importance. We highly value the partnership established with Xi'an Jiaotong University, and we believe that today's meeting will add new content to that cooperation. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to those of you who, using this opportunity, are willing to show openness to mutual partnership and strengthen scientific and cultural ties,- he announced the opening of the scientific and cultural meeting.
Professor Chen Hongbin said:
-Dear Mr. Yerasyl Altaiuli, dear colleagues, Xi'an Jiaotong University is always open to international cooperation, especially cultural and scientific initiatives. Contact with Kazakhstan, including Shakarim University, especially cooperation in the direction of researching the rich spiritual heritage of Shakarim Kudaiberdiuly is interesting and important for us. I am sure that the ideas presented today will lead to concrete projects in the future,-expressing his readiness to develop bilateral cooperation, he emphasized the importance of the meeting.
When it was his turn to speak, the head of the "Shakarimtanu" scientific center T.K. Shanbai:
-First of all, I would like to thank you for supporting the opening of the "Shakarim Kazakh-Chinese Cultural Research Center" near your university. In addition, I have a proposal for you to jointly publish a collection of Shakarim's works on science and knowledge, human qualities common to mankind, a book dedicated to Shakarim's life and heritage, and a booklet on "Shakarim's Kazakh-Chinese cultural studies" in the Kazakh-Chinese-English languages. Then Shakarim's identity would be opened not only as a Kazakh thinker, but as a scholarly thinker who raised universal human values, - he said. Professor Chen Hongbin expressed his support for this proposal.
-The offer is very interesting. To work in this direction, it would be better if you send us all the texts and materials. In the future, we will be able to discuss content and academic content together,- he said.
-Dear colleagues, when we visited your country, we discussed conducting research in the fundamental fields of science as partners. In it, it was mentioned about the issue of ecology, economy, basic sciences, effective use of natural resources, technological achievements, and the place of science in agriculture. Now, please share your thoughts on the most relevant issues in science in the 21st century, - said E. Dulatbai opened the way for discussion of scientific issues.
-These directions are very relevant. As you know, the western regions of China are naturally and climatically dry. In this regard, the areas of research that can be conducted in the field of rational use of natural resources, the technologies used, and the economic rationale and sources of financing of these projects are of particular importance. Dear colleagues, what kind of research can we conduct together in this direction? I would like to say that if we present our ideas, as a result, we will prepare specific projects," - said Chen Hongbin.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to jointly implement initiatives aimed at promoting the spiritual heritage of Shakarim Kudaiberdiuly at the international level, to systematically develop scientific and cultural cooperation, and to conduct specific negotiations and prepare scientific projects based on the presented ideas. It was noted that the partnership between Kazakhstan and China will further deepen in the field of education, science and spirituality.
