“Best Student – 2025”: Kanysh’s successful step into science
The proverb of the Kazakh people “Strength beats one, but intelligence beats a thousand” has a deep meaning and takes on special meaning today. Now is the time when knowledge is valued, not strength. The future of the country depends on how educated and diversified the youth are. One such promising young man is KanishMukhametkarim. He is completing the 3rd year of the educational program 6B01507 “Informatics and Robotics” at Shakarim University
Recently at Shakarim University, as part of the results of the academic year, the “Best Student” project was held, covering the areas of education, science, art and sports. In this competition, which assessed the activity and contribution of the best students to the public life of the university and the development of youth policy, Kanish was recognized as the best in the scientific field and awarded the title “Best Student - 2025.”
The reason for his victory was the platform he developed, “Preparation for the Subject Olympiad in Sports Programming.” The introduction of this platform into the school curriculum is a significant achievement that Kanysh can be proud of.
The results of his scientific work were introduced into the educational process of the specialized regional lyceum for gifted children “BILIM-INNOVATION” in the city of Semey in the 2022–2023 and 2023–2024 academic years, as well as in the educational process of the multidisciplinary gymnasium No. 5 named after Shakarim in the 2024–2025 academic year. Thanks to this, schoolchildren's algorithmic thinking skills have improved, preparation for Olympiads has been systematized, and the gymnasium's results in Olympiads have improved.
In the 2023–2024 academic year, students of the BILIM-INNOVATION lyceum took prizes at international Olympiads (Zhautikovskaya, European, EJOI). This confirms the effectiveness of the platform in preparing students for high-level competitions.
Platform creation goals:
systematic preparation of students for Olympiad programs;
development of algorithmic thinking and increased interest in the IT field;
creating an individual learning path in sports programming and monitoring progress.
Sports programming is the development of the fastest and most effective solution to a mathematical problem using programming languages.
Today, sports programming is in great demand all over the world. In Kazakhstan, this area is also developing rapidly.
“The subject of sports programming is not taught in educational institutions, many training platforms are available only in English or Russian, and some training systems are paid. For these reasons, I chose the topic “Platform for preparing for the subject Olympiad in sports programming.” As part of my work, I researched methods and technologies for systematic preparation for Olympiads and set a goal to create the most accessible and convenient platform in the Kazakh language. This platform helps schoolchildren and students to simplify the process of preparing for Olympiads and increase their level of knowledge,” says Kanish.
Having started working in this area during his school years and continuing for seven years, Kanish brought his idea to life with the support of his scientific supervisor, Master of Pedagogical Sciences Aksaule Tileubaeva. It brought together courses, platforms, tasks, video tutorials, books and other materials in one place, making them accessible. This is how the idea of creating a platform useful for the country’s education system emerged. The young researcher is confident that in the future the capabilities of the platform will expand and it will make a significant contribution to the educational system.
“I have been involved in sports programming for 7 years, worked as a coach for 2 years, preparing schoolchildren and students for competitions. During the scientific work, the main resources and training methods for sports programming were studied, and well-known international Olympic test systems (IOI, ICPC, USACO) were also reviewed. The languages HTML, CSS, JavaScript, NodeJS and the Firebase database were used to develop the project,” the young talent explains his achievement in detail.
As Muzafar Alimbayev said: “Talent comes from nature, but demand comes from oneself.” Apparently, it was precisely his inner spirit and desire for knowledge that helped Kanysh reveal his natural talent and do something useful for the country. “A people that raises an educated generation has a bright future” is an axiom.
