THE UNIVERSITY HAS A CENTER FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION
Inclusive education is a system of education in which children with certain developmental disabilities are taught together with healthy peers. It is important for every parent that their child does not lag behind his peers. This model of education also plays a significant role in determining the child’s future place in society.
Specifically speaking, students receiving inclusive education are taught in the same class or group with healthy children of their age and at the same time receive systematic help from a speech pathologist teacher.
Inclusive education is the process of teaching children with special educational needs in mainstream schools. It is implemented within the framework of relevant regulatory legal acts and is enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Education of the younger generation with special educational needs is aimed at meeting their educational needs and improving new approaches to learning and teaching. If the changes introduced into the educational process are effective, the situation of children with special needs will also improve.
In order to implement this task, in the educational building No. 3 of Shakarim University, on the initiative of the university rector Duman Orynbekov, the grand opening of the Resource Center for the Development of Inclusive Education took place. The event was attended by the leadership of the Education Department of the Abay region, university and college teachers, teachers and industry specialists who witnessed this significant event.
In the center, which promotes the practical development of future specialists and students who have chosen the pedagogical direction, there is an adapted educational space for inclusive education, a professional training room adapted to inclusive practice, a room for psychological and pedagogical support “Balance Space”, as well as resource rooms for inclusive education.
"The main goal of the Center is to provide comprehensive and high-quality higher education for people with special educational needs, comprehensive psychological and pedagogical support for their educational process, as well as preparing future teachers and specialists for professional activities in the conditions of inclusive education. These goals are fully consistent with the priority directions of the state policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the development of inclusive education. The resource center for the development of inclusive education is focused on training future specialists to work with children with special educational needs needs, as well as to ensure equal access to quality higher education, taking into account the individual capabilities and needs of students. The center is equipped with modern material, technical, educational and methodological bases. Its educational space is organized according to an innovative model that combines theoretical knowledge and practical skills,” noted Asem Kasymova, head of the inclusive education strategy.
The offices inside the Center function as a specially organized educational environment aimed at the formation and development of professional competencies of future specialists. Here students have the opportunity to improve their knowledge in practice in the field of speech therapy, special pedagogy, inclusive education, as well as correctional and developmental pedagogical methods. In addition, specialized software, diagnostic tools and teaching materials are widely used to develop the sensory, communicative and cognitive abilities of children with special educational needs.
