Two scientists from our university were awarded the title “Best Teacher of 2025”
One of the most prestigious and competitive competitions in the higher education system of the Republic of Kazakhstan - “Best teacher of a higher educational institution of the year” - has come to its end. This year, the honorary title was awarded to 150 of the best teachers selected from 37 higher education institutions in the country. The fact that two Shakarim University scientists were among the winners is a source of special pride for us.
Having adequately represented the university and shown good results, the winners of the competition were:
Kairat Serikzhanovich Bekbaev— Candidate of Technical Sciences, Head of the Department of Bioengineering Systems, Associate Professor;
Erbol Amangazievich Ospanov— PhD doctor, associate professor of the department of automation and information technology.
2025 was a particularly successful year for Kairat Serikzhanovich Bekbaev. In addition to this award, he achieved a number of significant heights in the field of science and education, thereby strengthening the international scientific potential of our university. In particular, he became the winner of an international scientific project (the only international project at our university), received the academic title of associate professor, and also became the owner of a state scientific scholarship of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
This year, 502 applicants from 89 higher educational institutions of the country, who passed a strict selection, took part in the competition. When assessing candidates, we took into account such key indicators as the development and publication of electronic educational resources and educational materials, publications in domestic and international scientific journals, patents and scientific achievements, quality of teaching, contribution to the training of higher and postgraduate education.
The victory of Kairat Bekbaev and Erbol Ospanov in such a prestigious competition is convincing confirmation of the high level of scientific and pedagogical potential of our university.
This competition has been held on a traditional basis since 2005. In recent years, its requirements have become significantly stricter, and the passing score has increased significantly. In 2025 it was 85 points, which is 14 points higher than in 2024. Compared to 45 points in 2022 and 57 points in 2023, this clearly indicates increased competition and a qualitative improvement in the level of teaching staff in the country.
Holders of the title “Best Higher Education Institution Teacher of the Year” are provided with opportunities to expand research activities, improve professional qualifications, and undergo internships at leading universities and research centers around the world.
We sincerely congratulate our colleagues on this significant achievement!
We wish you good health, great success, new scientific discoveries and consistently fruitful work for the benefit of our university and national science!
