A briefing at the Shakarim University
Today at Shakarim University, a rich and spiritually rich open lecture was held by a well-known state and public figure, a deputy of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, secretary of the Senate Committee on International Relations, Defense and Security, doctor of historical sciences, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Darkhan Kydyrali. He spoke to the audience with a lecture on the topic "Abai and the Turkic world". The event was held within the framework of the project "Lecture of a successful personality" and gathered the faculty, veterans of pedagogical work and students of the university.
Opening the meeting, the rector of the university Duman Orinbekov introduced the guest, noting his great contribution to the development of Turkology, the deepening of the historical and cultural integration of the Turkic peoples, the strengthening of international humanitarian cooperation. He emphasized that during the leadership of the International Turkic Academy, Darhan Kydirali brought the scientific interaction of the Turkic world to a new level, managing dozens of major projects and international expeditions, as well as making a significant contribution to the preservation and popularization of cultural heritage.
In turn, Darhan Kuandykovich said that in connection with the 180th anniversary of the birth of Abay Kunanbayev this year, he dedicated a lecture to the role of the great thinker in the Turkic world.
Speaking to the audience, the scientist gave a number of interesting facts about the international recognition of Abay's work.
In 1934, in Berlin, an article was published in the journal "Yash Turkistan" under the title "The Great Poet of Turkistan" "Abay Kunanbayuly". I came across this material in 1997 when I was collecting the works of Mustafa Shokay. In the early 2000s, we translated the text into modern graphics and partially adapted it into the Kazakh language for the newspaper ⁇ Türkiyestan ⁇ . The author of the article was Taxir Shagatai ⁇ a student of Mustafa Shokaya and the responsible secretary of the journal. He was a young student from Tashkent. Of course, the guiding man was Mustafa Shokay himself ⁇ the chief editor of the magazine and leader of the Turkestan national movement. This is arguably the first foreign article about the Abay. The word "Turkestan" should be understood as the Turkic world, modern Central Asia, the scientist noted.
He emphasized that the name of Professor Tahir Shagatay, who, while abroad, gave a high and objective assessment of Abay's work, will rightfully take a worthy place in the history of Abayology.
In the course of the lecture, Darhan Kydirali dwelt in detail on the spiritual world of Abay, its consonance with the works of the great eastern poets Nizami, Nawai, Firdousi. He spoke about the cultural continuity in the Turkic world, about the role of the Alashovs in the study of the Abay heritage and about the modern directions of the Abayology.
Scientists and young people asked the speaker many questions and received meaningful, scientifically reasoned answers, which opened up new knowledge and other perspectives.
At the end of the meeting, Darhan Kuandykovich presented his new book ⁇ ⁇ Philosophy of the Point ⁇ to the rector of the university, Duman Orinbekov, expressing gratitude for the warm reception. In addition, the scientist visited the Shakarim Museum, located within the walls of the university, where he got acquainted with the exposition dedicated to the life and work of the thinker. Getting acquainted with priceless historical artifacts gave the event a special depth and significance.
