The referendum is the basis of the country's future
An informative round table meeting on the topic "Referendum is an important step that determines the future of the country" was held at Shakarim University. The main purpose of the meeting was to comprehensively discuss the meaning and significance of the constitutional reforms within the framework of the republican referendum to be held on March 15, to explain its place in the life of the society, and to increase the civic activity of students and teachers.
Mayra Ibraemova, head of the Department of Linguistic Communication, opened the meeting and spoke about the special role of the Constitution in the life of the state.
- The Constitution is not only a legal document, but the main law that unites the state and society, determines their mutual agreement, and sets the direction of historical development. The purpose of today's meeting is to openly share your thoughts on the proposed constitutional reforms,- he said.
University professors, jurists, political scientists, historians and students participated in the round table. During the meeting, close attention was paid to each item of the amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and their influence on improving the country's political system and expanding the rights and freedoms of citizens was widely differentiated.
Coordinator of the Center for Sociological Analysis, lawyer Nazigul Gazizova spoke in detail about the changes in the draft of the new Constitution. He emphasized the place and significance of the referendum in a democratic society and said that it is the highest form of expression of people's will. He emphasized that the proposed reforms are aimed at increasing the efficiency of state administration, strengthening the balance between branches of government and strengthening the role of civil society institutions.
During the exchange of opinions, many questions were asked by the participants and meaningful discussions took place. The students received clear answers to the problems they were concerned about and understood the strategic significance of the referendum for the future of the country.
