Congratulations to the people of Kazakhstan on the Day of Languages!
September 5 – Day of Languages of the Kazakh People. We all know that the holiday celebrated on September 22, since January 20, 1998, according to the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated October 31, 2017 No. 689 “On approval of the list of holidays in the Republic of Kazakhstan”, September 5, that is, the birthday of Akhmet Baitursynuly, was approved as the Day of Languages of the People of Kazakhstan.
The reason for changing the named date had its own secret - an outstanding public figure of our people, who fought for the free destiny and language of the Kazakh people, who said that “the most powerful thing that causes the preservation and loss of the nation is the language,” Princess Alash, educator, scientist, founder of Kazakh linguistics and literary criticism, Kazakh poet, publicist, teacher, translator - Akhmet Happy birthday to Baitursynuly.
Today all Kazakhstanis celebrate the Language Festival on the birthday of the scientist who created the Kazakh alphabet.
At the Shakarim University in Semey, a week is taking place on the theme “Eternal Country - Glorious Language”, dedicated to the Language Festival. During the week, an interview platform is held on the topic “Language is the wealth of every nation”, an interfaculty debate competition on the topic “Art is the red language”, an interfaculty meeting of poets on the topic “Language is the soul of the nation”, curatorial hours with the participation of linguists from the Faculty of Philology, a republican scientific and theoretical seminar on the topic “Language and Intercultural Communication” with the participation of scientists and graduate students, students are organized.
The purpose of the event is to strengthen and develop social harmony and interethnic harmony, Kazakh identity, mutual understanding, increasing the status of the Kazakh language based on linguistic culture and universal spiritual values.
We hope that the events held during the week on the theme “Eternal Country - Noble Language”, the issues raised and the issues discussed will help improve the state status of our native language - the Kazakh language.
