Seminar-conference dedicated to Trade Union Day of Kazakhstan
A seminar-conference was held at Shakarim University, dedicated to the Trade Union Day of Kazakhstan, on the topic “Trade union - reliable protection of working people.”
The event was attended by the chairman of the Abay district organization of the Kazakhstan Industrial Trade Union of Education, Science and Higher Education Workers, Sabit Ibraev, and the chief legal specialist, Nurgul Abdulkarimova.
The ceremonial meeting was opened by the chairman of the primary trade union organization of the Shakarim University, Karlygash Kurmambaeva, who read out a congratulatory address from the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek and congratulated those present on their professional holiday. In her speech, she noted the importance of the trade union movement and the role of the organization in protecting the social and labor rights of employees.
As part of the meeting dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the trade union movement of Kazakhstan and the 35th anniversary of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, veteran teachers Aman Erengaliev and Roza Mambetbaeva, who at different times headed the primary trade union organization of the university, spoke with their memories and rich professional experience.
In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who declared 2025 the “Year of Working Professions,” during the seminar, a number of junior university employees and trade union activists were awarded letters of gratitude and memorable gifts for conscientious work.
Continuing the program, the chief legal specialist of the regional trade union organization, Nurgul Abdulkarimova, conducted a thematic seminar “Legal culture and trade union: the role of the trade union in labor relations.” During the seminar, current issues of labor legislation, increasing the legal literacy of trade union members and mechanisms for resolving labor disputes were discussed.
The event allowed participants to better understand the place and tasks of trade union activities in modern society, as well as receive comprehensive information about labor rights and responsibilities.
