Nauryz holiday is a time when the blue stone of Samarkand melts, day and night are equal, life comes alive, and nature rebirths. Our people celebrated the great day of Ulys in the month of prosperity and celebration, when sheep bleat, cattle howl, new life begins in the field. The square of the Shakarim University building, which celebrated this Ulys Day, was full of warmth, joy and revival. "Turlet, Nauryz!" held within the "Digital Nauryz - 2026" project The festive event was an educational day that glorified traditions, cherished national values, and promoted culture and art.
The festive event, which was organized at a time when the spirit of spring was felt and nature was blooming, was not only a celebration of Nauryz, but also a clear example of the revival of national values in the modern language.
Rector of the university Duman Orynbekov opened the festive event with a congratulatory speech:
"This is the third year that we have been celebrating the named holiday in the format of "Nauryznama" for ten days at the initiative of the head of state. This innovation enriched the content of the holiday and deepened its educational and spiritual significance.
Another feature of this year's Nauryz is the celebration of the holiday in a special, digital Digital Nauryz format within the framework of the "Year of Digitization and Artificial Intelligence". In fact, as a university that is considered an innovation ecosystem, we must be the driving force of positive changes in society, boldly introducing artificial intelligence technologies into everyday life, science and education. This start of the new year gives us a great opportunity to understand global technological changes, to harmoniously combine tradition and innovation. We should all contribute to the formation of the national character of this national holiday," he said.
In the festive ceremony, first of all, a blessing ceremony was held and Kydyr Ata, one of the main painters of the great day of Ulys, gave a blessing. The event continued with the performance of singers and dedication of poets. The national fashion show revealed the beauty of Kazakh embroidery, while the music of songs and tunes cheered and lifted the spirits of the crowd.
According to the tradition, yurts were erected on the university square, bearing the sacred number seven. This is a sign of respect for our traditions, history and national values. Seven identical yurts erected on the festive grounds formed a whole spiritual space. "Great Steppe", "Holy Horde", "Bereke", "Intymak", "Shanyrak" and students' youth village "JAS NOMAD" showed scenes of "Bringing off the girl", "Cradle", "Presentation" and revived the good traditions formed in the way of life of our people. A white table was spread in each village and national dishes were offered to the guests.
Algyr eagle bird Talgat Alibaev, who came to the square with the same style and pomp, decorated the holiday and revealed the beauty of national art. The two-year-old tirnek was highly appreciated by the visitors and showed the dignity of the Kazakh hut tradition.
The flash mob "Solidarity Day" organized by students of Shakarim Higher College deepened the content of the holiday and became a bright symbol of unity and peace.
National games and sports competitions were held in every corner of the square. On the football fields, archers competed in archery, shooting, javelin, arm wrestling, and weight lifting were also contested. Cornhole and clockwork games keep the crowd entertained. Eldos Mukhametov won the sheep-lifting competition held among university employees.
The main feature of this year's Duman is the widespread use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence capabilities. Elements of artificial intelligence were actively used to convey traditional values to young people in a modern digital language. At the same time, one of the special innovations that revived the national holiday was the AI-Sha mascot.
Shakarim University launched the mascot AI-Sha (AI - artificial intelligence, Sha - Shakarim) as the face of the concept as the face of the concept within the framework of the "Digital Nauryz - 2026" project. This digital video, which combines the Kazakh nature with a modern character, has become a symbol of Nauryz in a new format.
This initiative was implemented within the framework of the "Year of Digitization and Artificial Intelligence" announced by the Head of State, and gave a new impetus to the holiday.
The events dedicated to Nauryz holiday will continue for the next three days.
