Cyber Security Steps
Together with the Department of Economic Investigations and Inspections for the Abay region and Shakarim University, an information and educational seminar aimed at ensuring cybersecurity was organized among students.
Acting took part in the seminar. Marat Seilkhanov, head of the analysis and development department of the Department of Economic Intelligence and Inspection for the Abai region, and Talgat Kuandykov, operational representative of the Department of Emergency Situations for the most important cases, participated.
The purpose of the event is to increase students’ understanding of security issues in the digital environment, teach ways to protect themselves from modern types of fraud, and also develop legal literacy.
Experts explained to students the basic principles of cybersecurity, focusing on threats such as currently common types of Internet fraud, methods of attacking bank cards, phishing and social engineering, giving specific examples. They also shared important tips on how to protect your personal information, avoid visiting unfamiliar links, and change your passwords frequently.
Marat Seilkhanov informed the first-year students that this year Article 232-1 was introduced into the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, according to which the provision of bank data to unauthorized persons is recognized as a criminal offense punishable by imprisonment for a term of 3 to 7 years.
The harm of electronic cigarettes was also discussed during the event.
