Scientific evening

On February 23, 2026, a scientific and educational evening entitled "Academician Yerlan Sydykov and issues of shakarism" was held in honor of the 70th anniversary of the famous public figure, outstanding scientist Yerlan Sydykov at the Shakarim Science Center at Shakarim University.

Rector of Shakarim University Duman Orynbekov, head of Shakarim Science Center Turdykul Shanbai, head of Shakarim Science Museum Gulnur Tortenova, deputy director of "Shakarim High School" Yernar Kazhenov and students of the said school took part in this scientific and educational event. Duman Orynbekov, rector of Shakarim University, spoke first:

"Dear colleagues, students of Shakarim High School!" Today, we are meeting with you at the Shakarim Science Museum for a creative evening of special significance, which will be a guide to the future. Yerlan Sydykov, a well-known public figure, outstanding scientist, academician, rector of Lev Gumilev National University, turns 70 this year. There is no doubt that the Kazakh nation will widely celebrate the anniversary of its honorable son. And it is not a coincidence that we are together with the students of "Shakarim High School" at the event held on the occasion of this festive occasion. Our respected brother Yerlan Battashuvy was the rector of this Shakarim University for many years. The merit of our university to become a popular higher education institution is huge. Therefore, we decided to show respect to the students of Shakarim High School by following the example of their brothers who are the pride of our country.

Also, Duman Rymgalyuly told widely that he worked together in Astana, was in direct contact with the ministry, Yerlan Battashlyu led the way with his passionate energy.

Furthermore, the head of the Scientific Center of Sugarcane Studies, Turdykul Kasenuly spoke:

"Under the leadership of Academician Yerlan Battashuli, we have achieved many results in the field of education science. First, "Shakarim" magazine was published. A seven-volume serial scientific collection "Problems of Saccharism" was published. The personal encyclopedia "Shakarim" has gone down in history as a unique phenomenon in Kazakh culture. Yerlan Battashuly's work titled "Shakarim" was published in the series "Life of Great People" (Life of Great People) from Moscow. Today, we are working in a different way, built by Eragan," he concluded

The head of the Shakarim Museum, Gulnur Tortenova, introduced the visitors to the exhibition dedicated to the works of academician Yerlan Sydykov.

Deputy director of "Shakarim High School" Yernar Kazhenov said that he is in close contact with the Shakarim Science Center and students come to "Shakarim Science Museum" with enthusiasm.
