A new opportunity for the elderly
Today, within the walls of Shakarim University, students of the "Silver University" project completed various educational courses and received certificates. The ceremonial gathering became a special event that once again highlighted the importance of lifelong education.
Previously, certificates were presented to the elderly students who completed the Turkish language course, today the participants who received education in several areas were awarded.
The main goal of the "Silver University" project is to provide additional education to elderly citizens in accordance with the principle of lifelong learning, to enable them to adapt to the modern environment and lead an active lifestyle.
During the event, the head of Shakarim University Competence Development Center Asel Dautova focused on the work done within the framework of the project.
- Silver University students completed seven different courses since January. In particular, two levels of the Turkish language, "Financial Literacy", "Smartphone features and working with marketplaces", "Methods of economic and safe travel planning", "Gerontological nutrition", "Financial efficiency" courses were organized. More than 170 people completed these programs, says Asel Dautova.
Courses within the project aim not only to increase the digital literacy of students, but also to improve their financial knowledge, to learn the culture of healthy eating and safe travel.
It should be noted that the "Silver University" project is being implemented in partnership with the "Active Longevity" center, which aims to create an active lifestyle for older citizens. Within the framework of cooperation, special attention is paid to the effective organization of free time of the representatives of the older generation, the formation of a cultural and cognitive environment, and their active participation in the life of society.
Today, "Silver University" is not only an educational site, but it is becoming an important social project that finds a new environment and increases interest in life.
