Beyimbet Daribayev, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at Shakarim University: Artificial intelligence technologies are a new impetus in the digitalization of education
In the Address “Kazakhstan in the era of artificial intelligence: current challenges and their solution through digital transformation,” President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev gave instructions to create the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development. This initiative opens a new page in the scientific and technological development of the country, creates conditions for the training of highly qualified personnel and the introduction of AI solutions in key areas, including education.
Shakarim University was one of the first to integrate this course.
As part of the national AI-Sana program, the university is creating five intelligent agents to solve various problems in education. Two of them are already working:
AI-Check is an intelligent system for analyzing student work. It automatically checks texts for quality, structure and originality, and generates recommendations for teachers. This tool saves time and improves academic integrity.
AI Admission Bot is a Telegram bot created for applicants. It advises on admissions issues, automates document processing and has already shown high efficiency in the 2025 admissions campaign.
Before the end of the year, three more solutions will be launched:
AI Career is a digital career consultant that analyzes students’ skills and offers professional growth trajectories;
Research Center is an intelligent agent for processing data, preparing literature reviews and supporting scientific research;
AI Smart Course is an adaptive system that creates individual training courses and materials based on AI.
AI-Sana is becoming a platform for the digital transformation of education. These developments improve the quality of the educational process, provide teachers and students with modern tools, and accelerate the integration of science and technology into the personnel training system.
However, the issue of safety and ethics remains important. Shakarim University pays special attention to the formation of rules for the responsible use of artificial intelligence. Internal documents on the ethics of using AI are already being developed, as well as mechanisms to guarantee data protection and transparency of algorithms.
Shakarim University demonstrates that universities should not only be consumers of technology, but also centers for their development, implementation and regulation.
The President's Address outlined the vector, and we are ready to respond to it with concrete actions: from training specialists of the new generation to creating practical solutions for the national education system.
