“Practical application of ADOS-2: Experience of the Asyl Miras center”
On February 3, a master class on the topic “Practical application of ADOS-2: Experience of the Asyl Miras center” was held at the Resource Center for the Development of Inclusive Education of the Department of Pedagogy and psychology at Shakarim University. The event was attended by experienced specialists from the Center for Support of Children with Autism (Autism Spectrum Disorder) of the Education Department of the Abay region “Asyl Miras”: methodologist-diagnostician, Master of Pedagogy and psychology Z.S. Kadylbekova and educational psychologist, master of defectology A.B. Zhakupova.
The main goal of the event was to comprehensively demonstrate the process of practical application of the ADOS-2 diagnostic technique, as well as to develop professional diagnostic competencies and assessment skills among future specialists.
The event was attended by the teaching staff of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology, as well as students in the educational programs “Preschool Education and Child Psychology”, “Pedagogy and Methods of Primary Education”, “Pedagogy and Psychology”.
Experts spoke in detail about the scientific basis of the ADOS-2 technique, its practical application and significance in the early detection of autism spectrum disorders. They familiarized participants with the structure of the ADOS-2 technique, the features of its application and ways of interpreting diagnostic results. During the lesson, specific examples and practical tasks were presented, which allowed students to directly participate in the process of applying the methodology. In addition, answers were given to students' questions and real situations that they may encounter in their future professional activities were considered.
This master class provided students with an excellent opportunity to combine theoretical knowledge with practice, develop skills in working with modern diagnostic tools and improve their professional competence in the field of inclusive education.
