The spiritual heritage of Abai and Shakarim in the international arena
Speaking at the forum, Erasyl Dulatbay presented the report “Preservation and development of cultural heritage: the spiritual heritage of Abai and Shakarim.” He noted that the work of great Kazakh thinkers has a significant impact on world civilization.
Abai and Shakarim criticized the social vices of their time, called for education and science, fought for the awakening of the people, and formed the foundations of national identity and spiritual revival. For them, morality, justice and honor were the main values.
“Abai and Shakarim are the spiritual pinnacle of not only the Kazakh people, but also the entire Turkic world. Their ideas became a golden bridge between Eastern and Western civilizations. The Chinese philosopher Confucius said: “True knowledge begins with the awareness of what you do not know,” and Shakarim argued: “A person sees the truth not with his head, but with his mind.” These words remind us of the need to confidently step into the future, connecting the experience of the past with the possibilities of the present,” noted Erasyl Altayuly.
The spiritual heritage of Abai and Shakarim, which has absorbed the richness of the Eastern tradition, Islamic science and Western philosophy, undoubtedly remains an inexhaustible source of inspiration and a reliable guide for new generations.
