Introduction
The educational program 6V01707 “Kazakh Language and Literature” (IP) was developed by the faculty of the Higher School of Philology at Shakarim University, the Department of Kazakh Philology and Journalism, in collaboration with employers — the principals of Semey city’s “Secondary General Education School No. 30” and “Secondary General Education School No. 4,” as well as 3rd-year students of the “Kazakh Language and Literature” educational program.
The 6V01707 “Kazakh Language and Literature” (IP) program is common to all types of schools with instruction in Kazakh and Russian and is designed to train subject teachers of “Kazakh Language and Literature” at a unified level. The program is aimed at developing the professional competence of subject teachers through pedagogical and methodological skills, with mastery of literary, scientific, official, business, political, legal, and economic language registers across various fields of science.
It prepares future Kazakh language and literature teachers to work in Kazakh- and Russian-language schools and in all types of general education institutions, in accordance with the needs of modern Kazakhstani society (Kazakh-Russian bilingualism). The program is based on the latest innovative international practices in language learning and methodologies for teaching Kazakh both to native and non-native speakers
