Minor «Professional Communication in Kazakh»

The course “Kazakh Language in Professional Communication” is designed to develop skills for correct and effective use of the Kazakh language in a professional environment. The course covers language norms, styles, working with official and professional texts, and academic writing skills.

The aim of the course is to develop students’ ability to use the Kazakh language correctly and effectively in a professional environment, enhance skills in working with official, professional, and academic texts, and improve proficiency in professional and academic communication.

3.preparing official, professional, and academic texts;

5.appropriate use of professional and academic terminology.

The learner knows the orthoepic, orthographic, lexical, grammatical, and stylistic norms of the Kazakh language; masters professional terminology and official business language units; is familiar with the principles, genres, and structure of academic writing.

Understands the features of functional styles (scientific, official, publicistic, literary, and colloquial), the norms and ethical principles of professional communication, the logic of academic texts, and the importance of argumentation and proper use of sources.

Produces grammatically correct oral and written texts in various styles, including official letters, applications, reports, statements, and negotiation texts in Kazakh; writes essays, abstracts, summaries, and elements of scientific articles in accordance with academic requirements.

Analyzes deviations from language norms and stylistic errors, the structure, content, and linguistic features of professional texts, as well as academic texts from structural, stylistic, and content perspectives.

Prepares comprehensive business texts appropriate to specific professional situations and develops a coherent academic text based on scholarly sources, formulating independent conclusions.

Language Norms and Style

The course aims at developing students’ mastery of the literary norms of Kazakh, orthoepy, and punctuation, as well as the ability to distinguish language styles accurately. Students enhance oral and written communication skills, learn to work effectively with professional and academic texts, minimize language errors, convey ideas clearly and logically, and choose appropriate styles according to different contexts.

Professional Kazakh Language

The course teaches correct and effective use of Kazakh in professional environments and the preparation of official and professional texts. Students develop skills in analyzing, editing, and creating texts, mastering correct use of professional terminology. Additionally, they learn to communicate ideas clearly and convincingly in professional contexts and avoid language errors in various official and business situations.

Academic Writing

The course focuses on developing students’ skills in writing, analyzing, and understanding academic texts, with emphasis on academic style, logical structure, and reasoned thinking. Students can present scientific ideas systematically and convincingly, adhere to academic norms, and work with scientific and professional texts. They also develop skills in presenting research results in writing, analyzing data, and drawing conclusions.
