Cited Science: How Publications Shape a Scientist's Reputation
Shakarim University hosted a case session on the topic “Publications and citations as a factor of scientific reputation”, organized by the Center for Organization of Scientific Research.
Asemgul Baikadamova, head of the Center for Organization of Scientific Research, presented a systematic approach to building the scientific reputation of a modern researcher.
The event examined key components of scientific reputation, including:
• publication activity in journals indexed in Web of Science and Scopus;
• citation indicators, including the Hirsch index;
• participation in scientific grants and research projects;
• formation and maintenance of author profiles in international databases.
Particular attention was paid to tools for increasing the visibility of scientific publications, such as ORCID, as well as practices for effective scientific citation and strategic planning of publication activities.
The event brought together researchers, teachers and young scientists interested in increasing their scientific visibility and competitiveness at the international level.
Participants asked questions, discussed their own experiences and looked for solutions to improve the effectiveness of their publications.
